Feel the history when you are faced with five original Viking ships or even sail on the Roskilde Fjord yourself.

The impressive ships reveal stories about war and raids on trade and travel to distant places, and about life at sea 1000 years ago.

Summer activities

At the boatyard you can follow the construction of a Viking ship. At the boat builder's workshop you can try out your oak and Viking tools skills. Work with glowing iron in the forge, weave willow or cut beautiful wooden designs.

Discover the impressive collection of Viking ships and other Nordic boats in the museum's beautiful harbour. During the summer season you will find a long list of activities and exhibitions.
